Balversa

by Johnson & Johnson

Balversa is a targeted oral therapy for FGFR-positive urothelial cancer available through the Johnson & Johnson Patient Assistance Program.

Balversa (erdafitinib) is an oral fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) kinase inhibitor approved for adults with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer with susceptible FGFR3 or FGFR2 genetic alterations whose disease progressed during or after at least one line of prior platinum-containing chemotherapy. Patients must be tested for FGFR alterations using an FDA-approved companion diagnostic before starting Balversa. It works by blocking FGFR signaling that drives tumor cell growth. Balversa is taken once daily as an oral tablet, with dose adjustments based on serum phosphate levels.
