Dupixent
by Sanofi / Regeneron
Dupixent (dupilumab) costs $3,500–$4,000/month without coverage. Sanofi's DUPIXENT MyWay and Patient Connection programs can make it free or affordable. Learn how to afford Dupixent.
Dupixent (dupilumab) is a biologic medication developed by Sanofi and Regeneron. It belongs to a class of drugs called IL-4/IL-13 receptor antagonists, which work by blocking two signaling proteins — interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13) — that drive type 2 inflammation, the underlying cause of many chronic allergic and inflammatory conditions.
Without insurance, Dupixent costs approximately $3,500–$4,000 per month (up to $48,000/year), putting it out of reach for many patients. However, both Sanofi and Regeneron offer robust assistance programs for patients who qualify.
How to Afford Dupixent
Multiple options exist depending on your situation:
- Uninsured patients who meet income guidelines can receive free Dupixent through the Sanofi Patient Connection patient assistance program.
- Commercially insured patients with high copays can dramatically reduce costs through the DUPIXENT MyWay Copay Card — qualifying patients may pay as little as $0/month.
- Underinsured patients who have insurance but face high out-of-pocket costs may qualify for additional support through MyWay.
ClariMeds will match you with the right free program for Dupixent and manage the enrollment — at no cost to you. We also handle annual re-enrollments so your coverage doesn't lapse.
What Does Dupixent Treat?
Dupixent is FDA-approved for multiple conditions driven by type 2 inflammation:
- Moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children as young as 6 months — when other treatments haven't worked
- Moderate-to-severe asthma with an eosinophilic or steroid-dependent phenotype, in adults and children 6 and older
- Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) in adults — as an add-on maintenance treatment
- Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in adults and children 12 and older
- Prurigo nodularis in adults
- COPD with type 2 inflammation (the most recently approved indication)
Dupixent is given as a subcutaneous injection, typically every 2–4 weeks depending on the indication.
How Dupixent Works
The immune system in people with atopic dermatitis, asthma, and related conditions is overactive — it releases excessive amounts of IL-4 and IL-13, two proteins that trigger inflammation, allergic responses, and in the skin, the itching and barrier breakdown associated with eczema. Dupixent is an antibody that binds to the receptor shared by IL-4 and IL-13, blocking both signals simultaneously. This interrupts the inflammatory cascade without broadly suppressing the immune system, as older treatments like steroids do. The result is reduced inflammation, fewer flares, and — for many patients — dramatic improvements in symptoms.
