Entresto is prescribed for people with chronic heart failure, which is a condition that tends to get worse over time. Maintaining good control of high blood pressure is key to managing heart failure and staying out of the hospital. Entresto makes it less likely that a person with heart failure will need to be hospitalized and decreases the risk of death from the condition.
Entresto is a combination of two different medications: sacubitril and valsartan. Both sacubitril and valsartan lower blood pressure, but they do so in different ways.
