Exdensur

by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)

Exdensur is a long-acting anti-IL-5 biologic for severe eosinophilic asthma dosed every 6 months, available through the Together with GSK program.

What is Exdensur?

Exdensur (depemokimab) is a long-acting anti-IL-5 monoclonal antibody approved as an add-on maintenance treatment for adults with severe eosinophilic asthma. It works by blocking interleukin-5 (IL-5), a cytokine that promotes the growth and survival of eosinophils that cause airway inflammation in severe asthma. Unlike other biologics that require monthly dosing, Exdensur is administered as a subcutaneous injection just twice per year (every 26 weeks), offering a major convenience advantage for patients who struggle with frequent injection schedules.
