Gengraf is a modified form of cyclosporine and is widely prescribed for kidney, heart, or liver transplant recipients. It’s an immunosuppressant used, often in conjunction with other medications, to prevent the rejection of the transplanted organ.
Gengraf comes in both capsule and liquid forms. It is taken by mouth, twice daily, with or without food, but always in the same manner—always with food or always on an empty stomach. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice must be avoided, as they increase the concentration of cyclosporine in the blood.
