Intelence

by Johnson & Johnson

Intelence is an oral HIV medication for treatment-experienced patients, available through the Johnson & Johnson Patient Assistance Program.

Intelence (etravirine) is a second-generation non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) approved in combination with other antiretrovirals for treatment-experienced adults and children ages 2 and older with HIV-1 infection showing evidence of viral replication and NNRTI resistance. Unlike first-generation NNRTIs, etravirine retains activity against many common NNRTI-resistant HIV strains due to its unique flexibility in binding the reverse transcriptase enzyme. It is taken twice daily as tablets that can be swallowed whole or dissolved in water.
