Novolin R is a short-acting regular human insulin available for free through Novo Nordisk's NovoCare patient assistance program.

Novolin R (regular human insulin, USP) is a short-acting insulin used to control blood sugar in adults and children with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. It is taken by subcutaneous injection 30 minutes before a meal and is also used in insulin pumps. Novolin R is bioidentical to the insulin produced naturally by the pancreas and has been available for decades as a reliable, well-understood option.
