Ponvory

by Johnson & Johnson

Ponvory is a once-daily oral treatment for relapsing multiple sclerosis available through the Johnson & Johnson Patient Assistance Program.

Ponvory (ponesimod) is a selective sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptor 1 modulator approved for adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) — including clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting MS, and active secondary progressive MS — to reduce the frequency of relapses and delay disability progression. It works by retaining lymphocytes in lymph nodes, reducing the number of circulating immune cells that can attack the myelin sheath. Ponvory is started with a 14-day titration regimen to allow the heart rate effects to stabilize, after which it is taken as a once-daily 20 mg tablet.
