Prezcobix

by Johnson & Johnson

Prezcobix is a once-daily combination HIV tablet (darunavir + cobicistat) available through the Johnson & Johnson Patient Assistance Program.

Prezcobix (darunavir and cobicistat) is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing darunavir (a protease inhibitor) and cobicistat (a pharmacokinetic enhancer) in a single once-daily pill for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents (ages 12 and older, weighing at least 40 kg). Cobicistat boosts darunavir blood levels by inhibiting CYP3A4, replacing the need for ritonavir as a separate booster pill. Prezcobix must be taken with food and combined with other antiretroviral agents to form a complete HIV regimen. It simplifies therapy compared to taking darunavir and a booster separately.
