Rekambys
by Johnson & Johnson
Rekambys is a long-acting monthly injectable rilpivirine for HIV-1, used as part of the Cabenuva regimen, available through the J&J Patient Assistance Program.
Rekambys (rilpivirine, extended-release injectable suspension) is the rilpivirine component of Cabenuva, the first complete long-acting injectable regimen approved for HIV-1 in adults who are virologically stable on their current antiretroviral therapy. It is co-administered with cabotegravir (Vocabria) as a monthly or every-two-month intramuscular injection, replacing the need for daily oral HIV pills. Rekambys is administered by a healthcare provider in a clinical setting. Patients must be virologically suppressed (HIV-1 RNA <50 copies/mL) and have no known or suspected resistance to either rilpivirine or cabotegravir to be eligible.
