Serevent Diskus

by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)

Serevent Diskus is a long-acting bronchodilator for asthma and COPD available through the GSK Patient Assistance Program.

What is Serevent Diskus?

Serevent Diskus (salmeterol) is a long-acting beta-agonist (LABA) bronchodilator approved as a maintenance treatment for asthma (in combination with an inhaled corticosteroid) and COPD in adults. It is used twice daily to keep airways open by relaxing the smooth muscles in the bronchial walls. Per FDA guidance, salmeterol should not be used alone as the only asthma medication — it must be used in combination with an inhaled corticosteroid for asthma treatment.
