Votrient

by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)

Votrient is an oral targeted therapy for advanced kidney cancer and soft tissue sarcoma available through the GSK Patient Assistance Program.

What is Votrient?

Votrient (pazopanib) is an oral multi-kinase inhibitor that blocks VEGFR, PDGFR, and KIT signaling pathways involved in tumor angiogenesis and growth. It is approved for:

  • Advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) — kidney cancer
  • Advanced soft tissue sarcoma (STS) in patients who have previously received chemotherapy

Votrient is taken once daily on an empty stomach and works by cutting off the blood supply that tumors need to grow. Regular monitoring of liver function, blood pressure, and cardiac function is required during treatment.
