Yondelis
by Johnson & Johnson
Yondelis is an IV chemotherapy for soft tissue sarcoma and ovarian cancer available through the Johnson & Johnson Patient Assistance Program.
Yondelis (trabectedin) is a marine-derived antineoplastic agent originally isolated from the sea squirt Ecteinascidia turbinata. It is approved for the treatment of unresectable or metastatic liposarcoma or leiomyosarcoma in adults who received a prior anthracycline-containing regimen, and in combination with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) for relapsed platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer. Yondelis binds to the minor groove of DNA, disrupting transcription and DNA repair mechanisms in cancer cells. It is administered as an intravenous infusion in a clinical setting over 24 hours every three weeks.
