Zejula

by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)

Zejula is an oral PARP inhibitor for ovarian, fallopian tube, and peritoneal cancer available through the Together with GSK Oncology program.

What is Zejula?

Zejula (niraparib) is an oral poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor approved for the maintenance treatment of adults with:

  • Advanced ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer who are in complete or partial response to first-line platinum-based chemotherapy
  • Recurrent epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer who are in complete or partial response to platinum-based chemotherapy

Zejula works by blocking PARP enzymes that cancer cells rely on to repair DNA damage, causing them to die. It is taken once daily as an oral capsule and is effective regardless of BRCA mutation status.
